WELCOME TO 2007!

                     WELCOME TO 2007!

It's a brand new year! The best way to kick start is to have a new post on this dusty blog of 2006. These few days before the new year is filled with fun, sickness, love, friendship and many other wonderful stuff. Looking back at 2006, I have accomplished 3 major milestones.

They are
1. NTU GRADUATION from EEE with a 2nd Lower Honours Degree - For this piece of paper, I have struggled and fought in horrible battles on the exam hall arena, before I came out triumphant in my quest for a piece of paper that certifies my monetary worth in the working world.

2. DRIVING LICENCE - For this licence, I have started since 2001 in the quest for it. Only till 19 Dec 2006, then I got it clenched in my fists! From Army days onwards, I have already passed my driving theory and retook because it expired and I took private driving lessons in 2002, where I gave up the test because it clashes with my first NTU semester exam then. It was only up till Jan 2006 where I retook my driving lessons from BBDC school. Due to lots of delays, procrastinations, it was only till the end of the year where I get this priceless card to hit the roads!

3. Making a bunch of new and wonderful friends! - Through Alice (My JC guitar mate), I gotta make new friends from City Harvest Church. They are a bunch of colourful people that are warm and friendly, very optimistic outlook on life. These bunch of people consist of Kenneth, Kelly, Kean (the Triple K) No! No! They don't belong to the Kool Klux Klan, so don't worry folks. haha.. They also consist of Cindy, Vivi, Steven, Adrain, Lilian, Calvin, Jonathan, Danny and etc.. Too many nice people to name liao. Through them, I felt what is friendship, love, compassion. Although I am not a Christian myself, I feel blessed by God to be able to know them. They change my outlook on life!

As for my new year resolution for 2007, I really have to sit down quietly and reflect on what I wana achieve for this year. Since this will be the first full year onwards where I have to slog for the mighty dollar, zero resolution planning will turn me into a mindless zombie that reports for work every weekday and always stretching my neck for that year end bonus repetitively. Is that what I really want? I don't think so... I want a breakthrough every year, so as to live a meaningful life for each successful year I've managed to survive! Stay tune for my next post "2007 RESOLUTIONS!"

I am back!

After a whole month of inactivity in September, I have come back to update this dust filled blog of mine..haha...

What have I done in September? I shall summarise all those in point form starting from the most recent activity to cut the long story short.

1. My 1st beach volley ball outing at sentosa!

2. Meeting up with friends whom I did not meet for years.

3. Buying new pair of leather shoes (Cost me a bomb.., but bo bian, cos my present one is gonna spoil anytime)

4. Buying new pair of slippers at $3.50 and I like the design too!

5. Meeting up with insurance agent

6. Going for my first Art Exhibition with Jinfu and Jackson (Very New experience*)

7. Attending meetings at various places.

8. Meeting up with the Vice Dean of NUS engineering for work-related consultation.

9. Taking and failing my first driving test (-_-)

10. Buying myself a new watch!

11. Lastly, Day Dreaming and other acts of mind drifting inactivity....

That's probably all I've done in the month of September. Hopefully, each month becomes more fun with lotsa new activities lining up!

How Life has Changed after NTU....

Work life has began as an engineer... No more taking of pocket money from parents, no more going out for outings after school and lots of no mores...

No mores has eventually became giving more. The employee is expected to contribute more time, more energy, more resources. At home, I start giving money to parents to repay my study loan and also for the upkeeping of household bills. It's just a period of 1 mth upon graduation and what a stark difference in lifestyle!

Suddenly I feel compelled to quickly grow out of my student phase and start planning for my future. Everything needs money! The only thing that is free is the cold air that shudders and quivers. Even the recent bout of illness hitting me is like a brick hard on my head to get me started to plan for my future health expenses too...

Well, maybe that's life.

Oops! Is this a monthly blog?

Don't worry, this blog will still be updated whenever I feel like it.  Just that, I am busy for this whole month.  Busy with what? Oh, I am busy with outings, interviews, watching one piece on Youtube and also my 1 week new job that I just started.

After so much resistance about refusing to become an engineer since March this year, I eventually became "AN ENGINEER"!  The job market for fresh grads is actually quite bad if you don't have a wonderful scoresheets of "A"s or a glamorous CCA record of being on the presidential post of a commitee.  Most companies are looking for something more than a piece of paper called the "Degree".  This is quite sad as the degree of willing companies to take in fresh grads is probably about 30%.  This is probably due to the fact that we fresh grads have to be trained for at least 3-6 months before we can become a useful money making asset.  By then, from the company's economical point of view, they would have wasted about $10k for your salary and training.  Thus more companies are only willing to take in people who have 2-3 years work experience.  Thankfully, I would get used to my job soon as more work load is piling up for me already.

My convocation is on Wednesday! Really looking forward to it as it means a day off from work! haha.. No lah...It's more like a nice ending for my textbook mugging days. 1 more work day tomorrow and I can sleep for a full 8 hours again! After one starts work, I think the most valuable thing is sleep. Without sleep, one would probably function on autopilot mode and once a slight pat lands on your back, you would crumble to dust powder.. hehe

Job Search Once Again..

I am back to job searching since last week, as I resign from my job.  It's probably sad that I have to leave my colleagues, whom are great people to work with!  But I really find that the job is not suitable, so off I go.  My mindset has evolved once again, it is not just a job that I seek.  There must be job satisfaction and other factors too.  I just hope that my next job will offer me what I really wanted. haha...

Went to JB on tues with friends. It's about 2 years since I last went there.  Nothing surprising or any big changes there.  The only thing new that I experienced is that the seafood there is really nice and affordable! We had seafood such as Butter prawns, Steamed fish that is extremely meaty, hotplate beancurd and veggies for RM90, which is definitely worth it. hehe...

The only sad part is that I got food poisoning the next day, which I suspected was from the spicy nuggets that I had from the macdonalds at City Square..sigh..took me about 2 days to recover from the effect...

Collected my graduation gown with Seet just now, found a few NTU students there too. It's really a nice experience trying on and buying the graduation gown, since it is a childhood dream come true for me! hehe.. I finally completed my first long term goal in life. Probably I have to set a next one soon, so as to keep myself moving. The feeling of stagnation is very bad... just slugging at home with nothing else to work for, nothing else to think of, nothing else to contribute... maybe going to get mummified soon..haha....
